National Park Service officials have been fearful for the past week or so that the conditions could wipe out a majority of this year's crop.
Officials called the conditions this March "unprecedented" and the "perfect storm."
“27 or below, we could experience a 10% loss of the blossoms,” Mike Litterst, a National Park Service Spokesperson said last week. “24 degrees or lower, we could be looking at a perhaps 90% loss.”
