'The People v. O.J. Simpson' leads Critics' Choice Award nominations

(WENN) — "The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story" looks set for a big night at the Critics' Choice Awards after receiving six nominations.
The TV miniseries is up for Best Movie Made For Television Or Limited Series, alongside "All the Way," "Confirmation," "Killing Reagan," "Roots," and "The Night Manager."
Its stars Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Courtney B. Vance will compete for Best Actor In A Movie Made For Television Or Limited Series against Bryan Cranston for "All the Way," Benedict Cumberbatch for "Sherlock: The Abominable Bride," Tom Hiddleston in "The Night Manager," and Tim Matheson in "Killing Reagan."
Meanwhile, "Game of Thrones" is another big contender with five nods, including Best Drama Series, for which it will face off with "Better Call Saul," "Mr. Robot," "Stranger Things," "The Crown," "This Is Us," and "Westworld."
"Outlander"'s Sam Heughan, "Mr. Robot"'s Rami Malek, "Better Call Saul"'s Bob Odenkirk, "The Americans"' Matthew Rhys, "Ray Donovan"'s Liev Schreiber, and "House of Cards"' Kevin Spacey are up for Best Actor in a Drama Series, while "Outlander"'s Caitriona Balfe is shortlisted for Best Actress in a Drama Series, against Viola Davis for "How to Get Away with Murder," Tatiana Maslany for "Orphan Black," Keri Russell for "The Americans," Evan Rachel Wood for "Westworld," and Robin Wright for "House of Cards."
Supporting actor nods for drama include "Game of Thrones"' Peter Dinklage and Kit Harington, "Mr. Robot"'s Christian Slater, and "Ray Donovan"'s Jon Voight, while "The Good Wife"'s Christine Baranski, "Game of Thrones"' Emilia Clarke and Lena Headey, and "Westworld"'s Thandie Newton are up for the female equivalent.
Meanwhile, Best Comedy Series nominees include "Atlanta," "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," "Black-ish," "Modern Family," and "Veep," while Ellie Kemper ("Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"), Julia Louis-Dreyfus ("Veep"), and Tracee Ellis Ross ("Black-ish") are among those to do battle for Best Actress in a Comedy Series.
"Black-ish"'s Anthony Anderson, "The Last Man on Earth"'s Will Forte, "Atlanta"'s Donald Glover, "Documentary Now!"'s Bill Hader, "Blunt Talk"'s Patrick Stewart, and "Transparent"'s Jeffrey Tambor are up for Best Actor in a Comedy Series.
"Modern Family"'s Julie Bowen, "Veep"'s Anna Chlumsky, "Mom"'s Allison Janney, "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"'s Jane Krakowski, "Transparent"'s Judith Light, and "Girls"' Allison Williams are up for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series and "Baskets"' Louie Anderson, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine"'s Andre Braugher, "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"'s Tituss Burgess, "Modern Family"'s Ty Burrell, "Veep"'s Tony Hale, and "Silicon Valley"'s T.J. Miller have all received nods for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards will take place in California on December 11.
