(WENN) — Ryan Reynolds is developing an R-rated take on the beloved "Home Alone" franchise -- about a paranoid stoner.
Reynolds is attached to produce "Stoned Alone" with Augustine Frizzell as director.
Unlike the beloved John Hughes family films, Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider's script focuses on a pot-smoking loser who misses a plane bound for his holiday ski trip, gets high, and has to fend off thieves who break into his house, according to Deadline.
The original "Home Alone," starring Macaulay Culkin, became an instant holiday classic when it hit cinemas in 1990.
