Roseanne Barr, John Goodmanand Sara Gilbert are returning to the small screen for a revival of hit sitcom "Roseanne."

Barr and Gilbert will executive produce the project alongside Tom Werner, Bruce Helford and Whitney Cummings.

"Roseanne"centered on a working-class family living in the fictional town of Lanford, Illinois. It ran for nine seasons in the U.S. and also starred Laurie Metcalf and "The Big Bang Theory" star Johnny Galecki.

The original cast members received several Emmy Awards and Golden Globes nominations and wins throughout the show's run.

It is unclear when the eight-episode series will go into production, but it is currently being shopped to several networks and streaming service Netflix. It is also not known how Goodman's character will be incorporated in the new show since he died at the end of the original series finale in 1997.
