Iconic New Orleans musician Fats Domino dead at 89

(WENN) — Legendary musician Fats Domino has died at the age of 89.
The "Blueberry Hill" hitmaker passed away at his home in New Orleans on Tuesday. His cause of death has not been revealed.
Domino, real name Antoine Domino Jr., was among the pioneers of rock 'n' roll music in the 1950s and 1960s and was known for hits including "Ain't That a Shame" and "I'm Walkin'."
He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987.
Domino, who played the piano, saxophone, electric guitar and drums, was also active in supporting relief efforts for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, which ravaged Louisiana and Alabama in 2005.
He last performed at Tipitina's in New Orleans in 2007.
