More than 135 artists have signed an open letter to Texas leaders asking them to oppose SB6, the state's so-called "bathroom bill."

Similar to controversial legislation passed in North Carolina last year, SB 6 would ban transgender people in Texas from using the bathroom of their choice.

The letter, released Tuesday by Equality Texas for their #TXTogether campaign, is signed by musicians like Lady Gaga, Sting, Ariana Grande, Britney Spears and St. Vincent.

Other actors and entertainers signing include Ewan McGregor, Jimmy Kimmel, Emma Stone, Whoppi Goldberg and Jennifer Lawrence.

The letter also comes out against other proposed legislation in Texas that would "force teachers to out LGBTQ students to their parents" and bills that would "strip Texas cities of their LGBTQ-inclusive nondiscrimination protections" or "undermine marriage equality."

Last week, the NFL suggested the state could lose the opportunity to host future Super Bowls if the law passes. A similar bill has also been introduced in the Texas House of Representatives.
