Kelsey Grammer plotting 'Frasier' reboot
(WENN) — Kelsey Grammer is reportedly in the early stages of planning a "Frasier" reboot.
The actor portrayed quirky Dr. Frasier Crane on TV in "Cheers" and then reprised the role for the hit sitcom spin-off from 1993 to 2004, and now he wants to take the character to a new setting, according to Deadline sources.
In the new series, Grammer will move his snobby psychiatrist-turned-radio-personality character from Seattle to a new city.
The actor is reportedly meeting with writers to work on the concept behind the new show.
It's not yet known if he is interested in reuniting with co-stars Jane Leeves, David Hyde Pierce and Peri Gilpin, but Grammer's character will most likely be fatherless in the new show as John Mahoney, who played his dad on TV from 1993 to 2004, died in February, aged 77.
