Bruce Willis set to start work on 'Die Hard 6' script

(WENN) — Bruce Willis is heading to Hollywood to start work on the script for a sixth Die Hard movie.
The actor has appeared as John McClane in all five Die Hard films, including Len Wiseman's 2007 hit "Live Free or Die Hard," with the director confirming in September that Willis will be back for the next installment, set to be titled "Die Hard: Year One."
Speaking about the new movie during an appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Tuesday night, the action star shared that the project is now underway.
"I'm about to wing out to California to see what the script looks like," he said. "So, yeah (it's going to happen)."
"Die Hard: Year One" will be an origin story that will feature flashbacks to McLane's days as a police officer in the 1970s.
But Willis won't be doing any heavy lifting or stunt work for the time being, as he recently injured his right arm at the gym.
"I was working out, doing dips, and on the fourth 'death dip' there was a bad noise. Kind of like that cartoon 'boing' sound. It did spring up," the 62-year-old shared.
Meanwhile, Willis is currently promoting his latest action film, "Death Wish," which is a re-imagining of the 1974 movie of the same name which starred Charles Bronson.
In the new take, the star portrays Dr. Paul Kersey, who becomes a vigilante when his wife is murdered and his daughter brutally attacked by robbers.
"I'm a doctor and save people's lives. And what happens to my family [causes] me to take a different line of work - I go nuts!" he teased of the film's plot.
"Death Wish" begins to hit cinemas Friday.
