"The Mummy" star Brendan Fraser has been cast as Robotman/Cliff Steele in DC Universe’s upcoming live-action series "Doom Patrol."

Fraser will provide the voice for the character and appear as Steele, a former racing driver who now exists in the body of a robot after a horrific accident, in flashback scenes.

Riley Shanahan will provide the physical performance of the character on stage in full body costume, according to Deadline.

Doom Patrol's outcasts will also be portrayed by April Bowlby and Diane Guerrero.

Jeremy Carver is currently writing the script for the series, also conjuring up characters like Negative Man, Elasti-Woman, and Dr. Niles Caulder, who leads the group.

"Doom Patrol" was picked up in May and will begin production later this year for a 2019 premiere.
