(WENN) — Cameron Crowe's movie classic "Almost Famous" is heading to Broadway.
The 2000 film, loosely based on the director's life on the road as a young journalist, is being adapted as a stage musical.
Crowe is developing the project, based on his Academy Award-winning screenplay, while Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Tom Kitt is creating the project's score.
The film starred Billy Crudup, Patrick Fugit, Kate Hudson, Frances McDormand, and Philip Seymour Hoffman and centered around a young Rolling Stone hack as he hit the road with a rock band, called Stillwater.
It's not clear if any of the classic tracks from the film's soundtrack, most notably Elton John's "Tiny Dancer," will feature in the musical.
